Lee Jun Ki Cast as Male Lead for Chinese Romance Film, "In the Sicilian Sun"

Actor Lee Jun Ki has landed the lead role in the upcoming Chinese film, “In the Sicilian Sun.”

The news were announced by the actor’s agency, Namoo Actors, on November 27.

“The film will go into production in Shanghai next month. The director wrote the movie with Lee Jun Ki in mind from the very beginning, and the director even visited Korea to persuade Lee Jun Ki to join the film,” the agency revealed.

Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu, who rose to stardom through the 2010 film “Under the Hawthorn Tree,” will play the female lead.

“In the Sicilian Sun” (literal title) will tell the love story of a couple that frequently travels between Shanghai, China, and Sicily, Italy. Lee Jun Ki will play Park Joon Ho, a Korean man that does his everything to protect his lover.
