Which Two Stars Were Supposed to Take Part in the 2014 MAMA Kiss Performance?

Many viewers were extremely disappointed to find that the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) held on December 3 in Hong Kong did not feature the special kiss performance that they were highly anticipating.

On December 4, a representative of CJ E&M revealed which two stars were supposed to do the kiss performance, and also offered an explanation for the reason behind the missing kiss performance.

The rep shared, “The stars of the kiss performance were actually supposed to be Jo Se Ho and Lee Gook Joo. The two were scheduled to do the kiss performance. However, during the live show, Jo Se Ho said he just couldn’t do the kiss, so it fell through. Instead, they brought laughter with a fun ad-lib, so we hope people can see it as a kind of performance. As the two of them are a gag (comedy) couple, it seems like it ended up being a different kind of kiss performance from other artists. We believe that things not going according to plan is the beauty of a live show. Because they were able to satisfy with laughter in their own way, please view it as a complete performance.”

It appears that the kiss performance was originally planned to be carried out when the two comedians appeared in front of cameras while they were among the guests. After Lee Gook Joo did a brief performance of Sunmi’s “Full Moon,” and Jo Se Ho sang a bit of Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” the two attempted to kiss. However, after bursting into laughter, Jo Se Ho stated, “Even if it’s MAMA, I can’t do it,” and they quickly finished off the performance without a kiss.
