Lee Byung Hun is a Shapeshifting Cyborg in New Trailer for "Terminator 5: Genisys"
Lee Byung Hun appeared in the first trailer for “Terminator 5: Genisys,” which was released on December 4 through UKParamountPictures’ official YouTube channel.
“Terminator 5: Genisys” is the fifth installment of the “Terminator” series and the first of the franchise’s reboot trilogy. Lee Byung Hun will play the antagonist role of a T-1000 shapeshifting cyborg, which was previously played by Robert Patrick. He will be starring alongside veteran Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons, and Matt Smith.
The trailer includes scenes of Lee Byung Hun decomposing into liquid metal and shapeshifting at will, completely unfazed by the shots that are fired at him.
The film is not a sequel but a reboot of the original story found in the 1984 “Terminator” movie. In the war-torn year of 2029, John Connor (played by Jason Clarke) sends soldier Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to save his mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) from the Terminator.
“Terminator 5: Genisys” is slated to premiere in theaters on July 1, 2015. Check out the action-packed trailer below.
