Kang Ho Dong Named Head MC of New Variety Show "Invisible Man"
Kang Ho Dong is slated to be the head MC of a variety show based on “Misaeng.” The show, called “Invisible Man,” will revolve around participants playing games in order to get a job.
According to a representative of the show, “Invisible Man” will be the variety show equivalent of popular drama “Misaeng.” The show will feature Kang, along with other MCs, being sent to companies at random and playing games associated with getting a job, with winners receiving a prize. Similar to “Misaeng,” the show aims to give viewers a glimpse of the situation that real workers face.
It was also revealed that each episode will feature a special guest star who will accompany Kang and the other MCs on their quests. The exact structure of the show will be decided upon after a few pilot episodes.
Kang has recently experienced several disappointments related to variety programs. He was head MC of two recently cancelled programs, “Star Flower” and “Moonlight Prince.” While another of his shows, “Our Neighborhood Variety Sports,” is doing well, Kang will look to recover from this slump with “Invisible Man.”
“Invisible Man” will be directed by Han Dong Kyu, who also directed the variety show “Hello Counselor.” Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of this month with the show premiering sometime early next year.
