Kim Gura Admitted to Hospital, Revealed to Have Panic Disorder
It was revealed that gagman and variety show host Kim Gu Ra has been receiving treatment for panic disorder.
On December 18, Kim Gu Ra was admitted to the hospital after complaining about chest pain and discomfort as well as cold sweats that he was experiencing before the recording for MBC variety show “Three Wheels.”
A source from Kim Gu Ra’s management agency Line Entertainment told OSEN, “He has always had panic disorder, and his hospitalization today was probably related to it. However, no diagnosis [of today’s visit] has yet been made.”
According to a source from MBC, Kim Gu Ra was naturally unable to make it to the recording for this week’s “Three Wheels” episode. The recording proceeded with the other four members of the cast, Shin Dong Yup, Lee Yoo Ri, Yook Joong Wan, and Seo Jang Hoon.
Kim Gu Ra is not the first celebrity to be revealed to have panic disorder. Prevalent enough in celebrities to be called the “celebrity disease,” panic disorder affects many in the entertainment world, most likely due to the high-stress nature of the industry. Lee Kyung Kyu, Cha Tae Hyun, Lee Byung Hun, Kim Ha Neul, Hwang Hae Young, Ryu Seung Soo, and Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment are just some of the many celebrities who have experienced an attack or received treatment for the disorder.
