Exclusive: TVXQ's Yunho Introduces Melodrama "Ode to My Father" in Soompi Greeting
TVXQ‘s Yunho recently took some time out of his busy schedule to introduce Soompiers to Korean melodrama film “Ode to My Father“!
“Ode to My Father,” directed by “Haeundae‘s” Yoon Jae Kyoon, tells the inspiring tale of one ordinary man’s struggle to protect his family through challenges presented by both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and the coal mines of 1960s Germany. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Hwang Jungmin and “Lost‘s” Kim Yunjin. Yunho, adapting a southwestern Jeolla Province dialect in the film, will be making a cameo appearance as singer Namjin.
“Ode to My Father” has recently received worldwide acclaim, including an invitation to in The Berlin International Film Festival. Berlinale curator Wieland Speck praised the film, adding that “the film depicts the legacy of an unprecedented development in recent history with grand cinematic power and its human dimensions: the rise of a part of a troubled and divided nation, South Korea.”
