Hurry Up, Brother,” the Chinese version of “Running Man,” has drawn a “miraculous” number of viewers, according to various Chinese media outlets.

The Chinese sources have reported that episode 14 of the variety show, which aired on January 9 in China, drew a 4.2 percent viewership, making it the most-watched show that day. Top Chinese actress Bai Baihe also appeared on the show along with her husband, drawing a lot of public attention.

It is extremely rare for a show to exceed the 1 percent viewership mark in China, leading the Chinese press to call “Hurry Up, Brother’s” 4 percent a “miracle.” The show’s popularity continues to grow in China, and all of its seven cast members have achieved more recognition as a result. The show also manages to attract some of China’s biggest stars as guests, and a recent episode even featured a guest appearance by BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.

While only one episode remains in the first season of “Hurry Up, Brother,” January 30 will see the release of the theatrical version of the show in China. Whether the show’s popularity will translate into the box-office will be watched with much interest.
