“Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island” Is Topping the Box Office

Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island” is showing all the signs of being a box office hit. Currently, its greatest competition is “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” The two films are expected to go head to head for the number one position in the pobox office this weekend.

On February 13, the film had 137,642 viewers watch their movie keeping it in first place. The movie was released on February 11 and has maintained its first place position so far. As of now, there have been 369,575 viewers.

The film tells the story of a famous detective in the Joseon Dynasty named Kim Min (Kim Myung Min). Lee Yeon Hee plays a mysterious woman and Oh Dal Su is also featured in the movie. The first movie in the series, “Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow,” was released in 2011 and was considered a success as it sold around 4.7 million tickets.

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” was released on the same day as “Detective K 2” in Korea and is following closely. The foreign film had 102,445 viewers on February 13 and fell into second place respectively. It currently has a total of 268,604 views in Korea. Third place currently belongs to “C’est Si Bon.”
