DSP Trainee and "Baby Kara" Member Sojin Found Dead

It is currently being reported that Sojin, a DSP Entertainment trainee who participated in the reality program “Kara Project: the Beginning,” has passed away.

Hankook Finance reported that around 2:07pm on February 24, she was found unconscious in a garden of an apartment building by a passerby who called the police. Media outlet 10Asia reported that she unfortunately passed away after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Sojin was a trainee under DSP Entertainment for five years, and was part of the top four who made it to the live broadcast of “Kara Project.” Ultimately, she did not become a member of Kara.

It is also being reported that Sojin recently suffered from depression. The police are suspecting that she jumped off from the apartment building.

Update:

According to 10Asia, Sojin had recently left DSP Media, and was not a trainee of the company at the time of her death. A representative of DSP stated to 10Asia, “After negotiations, Sojin and DSP Media decided to end her contract one month ago.”
