2NE1's CL Voted 2nd Most Influential Person in the World in “TIME 100” Reader's Poll
The results of the “TIME 100: Most Influential People in the World” reader’s poll are out.
After a long streak in first place during the voting period, 2NE1’s CL came in second place in the final tally that was announced on April 13.
CL was second only to Putin, the President of Russia, among all of the nominees and first among the entertainers.
Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift made it into the top five in that order, while Pope Francis took 10th place, followed by U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in 11th and 12th place, respectively.
Others who made it into the TIME 100 include North Korea’s leader Kim Jung Un, President of China Xi Jinping, and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Over half of the ballots—57.38 percent—were cast in the United States, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom which were responsible for 5.54 percent and 4.55 percent of the vote respectively.
It’s worth noting that the reader’s poll results do not necessarily carry over to the final TIME 100 list. The official list for 2015 will be decided by the editors of TIME magazine and announced on April 16.
Where do you think CL will land on the final TIME 100 list, if at all?
