Secret's Hyosung Sheds Tears Talking About the Death of Her Father
On a recent episode of Mnet‘s “4 Things Show,” Secret‘s Hyosung revealed, “My father passed away due to cancer nine years ago when I was in Seoul as a trainee.”
Singer G.NA, who was one of the members of the disbanded group “Five Girls,” said, “I was the only one who knew that ‘Five Girls’ was disbanding soon. I didn’t tell the other members, but the day after the disbandment decision was made, I heard about the passing of Hyosung’s father,” and teared up.
Hyosung confessed, “After I found out that my father had cancer, I just thought, ‘He’s my father, he’ll always be by my side.’ So even after his death, it didn’t really sink in. During my school days, I remember I went to my hometown after scoring a 100 percent on a test. When I came home, my dad had gotten so thin. I found out that his tumor had spread to his lungs and he couldn’t swallow anything for 40 days straight.”
She continued, “I went back to Seoul that day, and when I woke up I had 40 missed calls. It was a rainy Father’s Day.”
“I think because I went through such hard times, I am able to be healthy while completing my promotions. I was able to come this far thanks to the Jun Hyosung who worked so diligently in the past.”
Hyosung also shared her other honest stories and clarified some misunderstandings on this episode that aired on May 19.
