Kim Joo Na’s Reps Respond to Accusations of Media Play Using Kim Soo Hyun’s Name
After it was revealed that actor Kim Soo Hyun has a half-sister named Kim Joo Na, who recently debuted as a singer with an OST, she has been gaining much attention from netizens.
On July 22, Kim Joo Na’s reps stated, “While it is true that Kim Joo Na is Kim Soo Hyun’s younger half-sister, we are a bit taken aback after this fact was suddenly made known to the public.”
Her reps also responded to accusations of using Kim Soo Hyun’s name for ‘noise marketing’: “Kim Joo Na has not formally made her debut yet. There was absolutely no intention of promoting her [with the news of being Kim Soo Hyun’s half-sister], nor did we try to hide it. There is a lot of pressure on her because it has unexpectedly become an issue. Kim Joo Na is currently in shock.”
About talks of her upcoming formal debut as a singer, Kim Joo Na’s reps explained, “She is still a trainee and nothing has been decided as of now.”
Media outlets’ flood of reports on the newly revealed half-siblings has even resulted in the ‘meaning of half-sister’ rising in real-time search keywords on portal sites.
Furthermore, amidst these reports, Kim Joo Na has shut down her personal Facebook account. It is said that netizens were able to find her Facebook and began spreading the private photos that were uploaded to her account, leading her to delete it.
