Tilda Swinton Reveals Her Interest in G-Dragon

Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton attended a press conference for her film “A Bigger Splash” (directed by Luca Guadagnino) at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on October 2. At the conference she spoke about her affection for her Korean colleagues.

“Recently I worked with director Bong Joon Ho and we became like family,” she said, referring to the film “Snowpiercer.”

She revealed that she wasn’t involved in “Snowpiercer” right away, and that she and the director first had breakfast together. It was only after visiting the set that she got the role. “Bong Joon Ho is a brilliant director and it was an honour working with him,” she said. “He makes modern cinema look classic.”

Tilda Swinton also praised her co-workers, Song Kang Ho and Go Ah Sung. “We became friends,” she said. “Working with them was fun and an honour.” When asked who she wanted to act with in the future, she named BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.

“I know he’s a singer, but I feel like he could be a movie star,” she explained.

Tilda Swinton is currently working with Bong Joon Ho again on a project titled “Okja,” but she refused to say anything about the film. “Right now, it’s enough to say that expectations are high,” she said. “It’s still in the early stages, but it’s very exciting, and you won’t be disappointed.”

Meanwhile, “A Bigger Splash” is the gala presentation at the 20th annual BIFF and a remake of the 1969 French mystery-thriller “Las Piscine” starring Alain Delon. Tilda Swinton plays a legendary rock star named Marianne on vacation on the Mediterranean with her filmmaker husband Paul, when she runs into her ex-lover Harry (Ralph Fiennes) and his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson). This is Tilda Swinton’s second project with director Luca Guadagnino, after the 2010 film “I Am Love.”

The Busan International Film Festival runs until October 10.
