Yook Sungjae Is Still Uncomfortable Around Kangin and Amber Liu on "We Got Married"
Despite the fact that BTOB‘s Yook Sungjae hosted KBS‘s “A Song For You” alongside Super Junior‘s Kangin and f(x)‘s Amber Liu, it seems he’s still pretty uneasy around the two of them.
On the October 17 episode of “We Got Married,” Yook Sungjae and his virtual wife, Red Velvet‘s Joy, are due to meet Joy’s label mates. Yook Sungjae admits that he’s pretty nervous about the meeting, and calls Kangin to try and ease some of the nerves. Kangin jokes that he’s in Pyongyang when Yook Sungjae asks him where he is, and in general does nothing to assuage Yook Sungjae’s fears.
When Amber Liu and Kangin arrive at the café, Yook Sungjae greets them formally as older brother and sister-in-law. However, as Amber Liu is not a native Korean speaker, she mistakes the word for a swear word, and Kangin jokingly tells her that Yook Sungjae means to have her executed (the word “execution” and “sister-in-law” are the same in Korean).
Despite that, Yook Sungjae admits that he really looks up to Kangin. “He’s really great, and I like him the most out of all of my seniors,” he says. “Even so, I still haven’t loosened up around him.”
