Younha Revealed to Have Recently Ended Long-Term Relationship

Singer Younha recently surprised her fans by revealing that she is coming out of a long-term relationship.

On January 15, she appeared as a guest on the MBC FM4U radio program “Blue Night,” hosted by SHINee’s Jonghyun. On the show, Jonghyun said, “When Younha talks about herself, she’s very honest. Her fans know this, as well as the people who listen to her radio show. If a celebrity hosts a radio show and shares personal information, they could get in trouble, but Younha isn’t afraid to talk about herself. Are you normally the type that doesn’t worry about that?”

Younha answered, “I don’t really think of myself as a celebrity. I’m still not sure what exactly a ‘celebrity’ is and I think of myself as a person who sings and sometimes goes on broadcasts.”

Jonghyun then commented on her changed appearance and Younha revealed that she changed her makeup — and the surprising reason why.

“I feel like this is a time to establish who I am,” she said. “I recently ended a long-term relationship. This isn’t something I should talk freely about, and I might get criticized for being too honest, but that’s the truth. It was a difficult few months but once I got through it I thought a lot about my feelings and my identity. I think that reflects in my physical appearance.”

Younha recently held her end-of-the-year concert “Final Fantasy” on December 19 and 20 at the Seoul Olympic Hall. Meanwhile, Jonghyun’s radio show “Blue Night” airs every night at midnight KST.
