Love Blossoms for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Gyo in New “Descendants of the Sun” Poster

The main poster for the upcoming drama “Descendants of the Sun” has been unveiled.

In the poster, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo share a quiet, intimate moment in a disaster area. Lit by a ray of warm sunlight, Song Joong Ki is sweetly tying Song Hye Gyo’s shoelace for her while she looks at him longingly.

The biweekly KBS drama is set to tell the story of a soldier and a field medic whose love blossoms while being dispatched into unfamiliar territory together. People are looking forward to the rise of the Song-Song couple in 2016, as Song Joong Ki plays an elite soldier who strongly believes in protecting the weak. Song Hye Kyo will be playing the role of a talented doctor with a strong practical streak, who believes in a private Gangnam practice more than the Hippocratic oath.

The production company said, “Human love can create miracles in hopeless situations. We want to portray this message by showing a man and a woman who think of each other even in situations of terrible disaster.”

“Descendants of the Sun” will also star Jin Goo, Kim Ji Won, SHINee’s Onew, Lee Seung Joon, Jo Jae Yoon, Seo Jung Yeon, and Hyun Jyu Ni. The first episode is scheduled to air on February 24 at 10 p.m. KST.
