Lee Seo Jin and Uee Live Opposite Lives in First Teaser For "Marriage Contract"

MBC‘s new weekend drama, “Marriage Contract,” which will star Lee Seo Jin and Uee, has released its first teaser, raising the excitement and expectations. It will air after “My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol,” and is receiving a lot of attention for being MBC’s attempt at a traditional melodrama, after a long time.

In the teaser that was originally released on February 20, Lee Seo Jin makes his first appearance as a cold, city man, with a voiceover saying, “Hello. I am Chief Han Ji Hoon.” Meanwhile, the “single mom” Kang Hye Soo, played by Uee, is seen piggybacking her daughter up a hill after finishing up her labor intensive job, plainly showing how hard of a life she leads.

It also hints at the beginning of “Marriage Contract,” by showing a scene where Han Ji Hoon’s mother, Oh Mi Ran (Lee Hwi Hyang), is in the hospital, overlaped with a scene of Han Ji Hoon breaking an instrument in his agony.

At the end of the teaser, Han Ji Hoon says, “Whether it be love, or marriage, if you think about it, isn’t it all just a transaction!” Kang Hye Soo then replies, “That marriage, do it with me. I’ll marry you,” while staring at him seriously, arousing the curiosity of viewers.

“Marriage Contract” tells the story of a man who believes life’s only value is money, and a woman who’s at the end of her young life due to a disease, and how they, after a dramatic first meeting, find and learn the true meaning of love. This cheerful yet, at the same time, mournful melodrama will broadcast its first episode on Saturday, March 5, at 10 p.m. KST.
