Lee Min Ho and Fans Donate 50 Million Won to UNICEF
Lee Min Ho and his fans have donated 50 million won (approximately $43,200) to help children without access to clean water.
UNICEF Korea announced on March 22 that to mark “World Water Day,” actor Lee Min Ho’s donation platform PROMIZ signed a social contribution agreement with UNICEF to help provide clean water to children in need. As part of the agreement, they donated 50 million won to the organization.
Their donation could be used to purchase 6.25 million water-purification tablets, providing 520,000 children with the ability to turn dirty water into drinking water, thus preventing the spread of waterborne diseases.
At the event to mark the signing of the agreement, Lee Min Ho said, “Sharing love with places that need help and raising awareness are both things that I can do, and also that I have to do. PROMIZ and I will work hard alongside UNICEF to achieve the goal of helping more children drink clean water.”
PROMIZ is a donation platform that was created to help Lee Min Ho combine forces with his fans to contribute to charity projects. The name is a combination of “Promise” with the name of Lee Min Ho’s fan club, “Minoz.”
