Park So Dam Faces Scheduling Conflicts Over Two Upcoming Dramas

Actress Park So Dam has recently been confirmed as the female lead for the upcoming KBS drama “Beautiful Mind,” but there is some controversy over her casting.

Park So Dam is currently filming the drama “Cinderella and the Four Knights.” The controversy lies over the fact that the drama may potentially have the same broadcasting period as “Beautiful Mind.”

“Cinderella and the Four Knights” has been planned for a July airdate and is currently in pre-production. The production company, HB Entertainment, is planning to finish filming at the end of this month and is currently in negotiations with the public broadcasters.

However, “Beautiful Mind” is scheduled to air its first episode on June 20. If “Cinderella and the Four Knights” finds a broadcaster and airs according to the production company’s plan, the two dramas will overlap.

A representative of ‘Cinderella and the Four Knights’ said, “Park So Dam decided to appear in ‘Beautiful Mind’ without any discussion. She is the main character of ‘Cinderella,’ but if the other drama airs first, what public broadcasters would agree to broadcast ‘Cinderella?’ An actress cannot appear as the main female lead in two dramas at the same time.”

Park So Dam was not present at the script read-through and the teaser filming for “Beautiful Mind.” A representative from KBS said, “Unfortunately, the main female lead was not able to attend. However, we will be continuing filming as planned.”

Park So Dam’s agency, Caramel ENT, said, “Nothing has been confirmed. There are still things left to fine-tune and there are circumstances that cannot be mentioned yet.”
