Lee Haein And Lee Suhyun File Lawsuit Against SS Entertainment, Agency Responds
Former “Produce 101” contestants Lee Haein (22) and Lee Suhyun (20) have filed a lawsuit to terminate their exclusive contracts with their agency SS Entertainment.
Their legal representative Joon Kyung released an official statement on May 19:
“Lee Haein and Lee Suhyun have filed a lawsuit regarding the invalidity and nonexistence of an exclusive contract against SS Entertainment on May 4.
“The length of the exclusive contract is excessively long and the scope of the contract is too broad that it essentially affects their freedom regarding economic activity. They did not receive an explanation of the contents of the exclusive contract and never even saw the contract.
“The verbal promise of debuting Lee Haein and Lee Suhyun within a year was not kept. They failed and neglected to provide vocal and dance training that idol trainees need.
“With the guarantee of debuting, they persuaded [them to sign] the unjust contract. We plan on having SS Entertainment lawfully terminate the exclusive contracts through this lawsuit.”
Meanwhile, SS Entertainment responded, “We learned about Lee Haein and Lee Suhyun’s lawsuit through the news. We are opening up different channels for discussion. We plan on announcing our stance after that.”
