I.O.I's Jeon Somi's Father To Talk About Daughter's Journey And Family On "Happy Together"
As reported previously, I.O.I’s Jeon Somi and her father Matthew Douma will be appearing on the May 2 broadcast of KBS2’s “Happy Together” for the “blood is thicker than water” episode.
With Jeon Somi being the center for girl group I.O.I and her father having appeared on the mega-popular drama “Descendants of the Sun,” anticipation is growing regarding their joint appearance on the variety show.
Jeon Somi, called “vitamin Somi” for her lovable, energetic charms, reveals that there are four Jeon Somi’s at her home, implying the similarity of her family members to her energetic personality.
Her father also entertained the set with his unexpected humor. Matthew, who was born in Canada, explains, “It’s been 22 years since I came to Korea” in fluent Korean. The members on set burst into laughter and amazement after hearing such perfect Korean contrasting from his non-Korean appearance.
Jeon Somi’s father also expressed his affection for his daughter. He reveals that he isn’t able to see Jeon Somi very often because of her busy schedule, saying, “This is the first time I’m seeing her in a month. I would like to thank ‘Happy Together’ [for providing this opportunity to film together].” Matthew also goes on to talk about his daughter’s past, “I cried as well when Somi didn’t make it as a member of TWICE.”
