Musical Actor Kai To Sue For Defamation After Sexual Assault Allegation

In 2015, musical actor and singer Kai (Jung Ki Yeol) was accused of sexual violence after he allegedly sent a sexual photograph to a female fan. Kai and his agency, EA&C, denied the claims.

On June 23, Kai’s agency stated, “The case has been dismissed by the Seoul Central District Court after an investigation revealed that the social media account involved was an impostor.”

“‘A’ caused a legal dispute based on false information and tarnished the image of our artist as well as the organizers of the performances and events in which Kai was appearing. We will not tolerate such actions and will charge ‘A’ with defamation and libel to prevent further harassment of our artist.”

The agency ended the statement by thanking Kai’s fans for supporting him through the incident and a promise to keep them updated about the actor’s future activities.
