Super Junior's Kangin Attending First Trial For DUI Today
The first trial for Kangin’s DUI case will be held today, August 17. As it is a criminal case, Kangin will be making a personal appearance to explain his side of events.
Although the incident was initially treated as a summary offense with Kangin simply being charged with a fine of 7 million won (approximately $6,400), the chief prosecuting attorney, upon review of documents, decided that the case should be handled through an official trial.
It remains to be seen what Kangin, who admitted to driving under the influence during questioning, will say during the trial.
Previously, on May 24, Kangin hit a streetlight in front of a convenience store, after which it was found that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.157 percent.
