'Music Bank' Responds To Complaints That BTS Winning No. 1 Was Incorrect

Following last week’s “Music Bank,” in which BTS won over I.O.I’s “Very Very Very” with their song “Blood Sweat & Tears,” some viewers suspected that there had been a mistake in the point calculations, and requested that the show reveal how they got their results.

“Music Bank” complied, and revealed their numbers for last week’s show.

They clarified that the percentages listed denote what percent each category accounts for in the point total.

“Music Bank” point breakdown:

Album sales: 5 percent, 10,000 points

Broadcast appearances: 20 percent, 40,000 points (TV 34,000 + radio 6,000)

Viewer voting: 10 percent, 20,000 points

For the October 28 “Music Bank”:

BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears”:

Total: 8,384 points

I.O.I’s “Very Very Very”:

ioi

“Music Bank” stated, “We’d like to clarify again that each chart’s point system is not the same, so predictions for results made by other organizations and our K Chart results are different.”
