Nam Joo Hyuk Clarifies His Relationship With Co-Star Lee Sung Kyung Once And For All
During an interview that aired on the November 13 episode of MBC’s “Section TV,” Nam Joo Hyuk was candid about the true nature of his relationship with co-star Lee Sung Kyung.
The two actors will be starring in MBC’s upcoming drama “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” together, where Nam Joo Hyuk will play Jung Joon Hyung, a swimmer whose innate talent for the sport earned him two gold medals in middle school. On the other hand, Lee Sung Kyung plays the main role of Kim Bok Joo, a weightlifting athlete whose entire life solely revolves around her respective sport.
This is not the first time these actors have worked together; they previously appeared on “Cheese in the Trap” together and have collaborated on several photo shoots together in the past.
After breaking the ice by bringing up a picture Lee Sung Kyung previously posted on her Instagram, the interviewer asked Nam Joo Hyuk if there is any chance he and the actress would end up in a relationship one day.
The actor amusingly clarified, “That [pose] was because the water was too cold and we had to survive.” Firmly denying the possibility of getting together, he cheekily explained that Lee Sung Kyung was more like an older brother with a great personality who always looks after him.
Meanwhile, “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” will premiere on November 16 and will be available exclusively on Viki!
