Jung Joon Ha And Haha Will Search For The Next 'High School Rapper'

Mnet is set to sweep Korea up in another hip-hop craze with the nation’s first ever high school rap battle program.

Mnet’s “High School Rapper” aims to let students freely express themselves through rap battles and to highlight the positive side of hip-hop culture by creating the show within a school setting. The staff of popular shows “Show Me the Money” and “Unpretty Rapstar” will head the show, and the MCs will be close friends Haha and “MC Minji” Jung Joon Ha.

Jung Joon Ha, who participated in the preliminary round of “Show Me the Money,” stated, “I seem to have a lot of ties with hip-hop this year. As time goes by, I’m falling more and more in  love with rap and hip-hop. I’m happy to be working with Haha, and I’m excited to hear the teenagers’ unpolished and outspoken stories.”

Haha expressed his delight in appearing on the show as he said, “As someone who dreamed of being a rapper when I was a student, the show takes me back to my childhood a lot. I’m interested in hearing the honest stories of kids these days, especially now that I’m a father. I’m excited at the possibility of discovering hidden talent as well. I’m honored to be appearing on this program.”

“High School Rapper” will be holding open auditions from December 7 to December 25, and the show will begin airing in February 2017.
