BTS Achieves Another Milestone In 2016 By Reaching 4 Million Followers On Twitter

BTS is wrapping up their amazing 2016 with another huge achievement!

On December 31 at 8:16 p.m. KST, the official Twitter used by the members of BTS celebrated that the group had reached four million followers. Naturally, they posted a screenshot of their profile covered in images of J-Hope, as per their tradition each time they reach another million followers!

BTS previously hit the three million follower milestone on August 29, meaning it only took the group four months to gain another million followers. Their tweet of a group photo after their first Daesang win at the Melon Music Awards was also named the Golden Tweet in South Korea for 2016, as it was retweeted the most times.

2016 was a highly successful year for the seven-member group. They released their compilation album “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever,” their second full album “WINGS,” and second Japanese album “Youth,” achieved their dream of performing at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, held a sold-out Asia tour, performed at KCON in Los Angeles and New York, and much more.

Their “WINGS” album was a record-breaking hit, debuting at number 26 on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching the top spot on iTunes in over 26 countries and territories, making it on to the United Kingdom’s Official Chart as the first Korean album to do so, and more. BTS also received their first ever Daesang awards this year, winning Album of the Year at the Melon Music Awards and Artist of the Year at MAMA earlier this month.

Meanwhile, BTS is currently performing at the MBC Korean Music Festival, while member Suga is using the group’s Twitter to live tweet from home again (as he is unable to join them on stage while he recovers from a minor injury).

Congrats on a great 2016 and hitting 4 million followers, BTS!
