"Infinite Challenge" 7-Week Hiatus Is Confirmed
The reports about “Infinite Challenge” going on hiatus have been revealed to be true.
The main producing director of the show, Kim Tae Ho, opened up about their reasons for the hiatus.
He told news outlet Sports Chosun, “First of all, we will be continuing to shoot and have meetings as we did before, so it’s incorrect to call it a period of rest or a vacation. The purpose of the hiatus is to normalize the processes necessary to produce the show. Our goal is not to create something spectacular, but rather to bring back the true colors of ‘Infinite Challenge.'”
“Infinite Challenge” is unlike other shows in that it has a different format each week, meaning that the time available to produce it is never enough. Director Kim Tae Ho explained, “It usually takes two weeks to plan and create a new project, but we broadcast every week. And when an episode airs in an incomplete state, it really pains me as a producing director. Sometimes I even get scared of Saturdays.”
In short, the “Infinite Challenge” staff’s decision was not based on to their desire to take a rest, but rather on their wishes to plan ahead and maintain the high quality of the show. Director Kim Tae Ho judged that a hiatus would give them time to plan out and create a show that is worth the fame they have.
Until they return with new episodes, viewers can enjoy the new variety special “Forty’s Spring” (tentative title) and the “Best of ‘Infinite Challenge'” specials that will air during the show’s time slot.
