Young Singer Wows With Her Hypnotic Voice On "King Of Masked Singer"

The episode of MBC’s “King of Masked Singer” that aired on February 26 featured the reveal of “Ms. Elephant” as a singer with a hypnotizing voice.

The second round had “Ms. Elephant” and “Pearl Girl” battle it out. The first melted hearts with her sweet and clear voice as she performed Kim Gun Mo’s “First Love.” Meanwhile, “Pearl Girl” performed 2NE1’s “Go Away,” wowing everyone with her high notes and stellar rapping.

“Ms. Elephant” appealed to the panel by imitating a popular line spoken by the son of MC Kim Sung Joo, who laughed and said it was quite similar. However, she lost to “Pear Girl” and took off her mask to reveal it was Akdong Musician’s Lee Soo Hyun.

What shocked viewers was that “Ms. Elephant” had knocked out “Giraffe” in the first round, who was revealed to be Lee Soo Hyun’s older brother Lee Chan Hyuk. When asked about this, the singer laughed and said, “We had a bet that if I lost to him, I’d have to climb a mountain and train, writing music and lyrics. He did his beset, even practicing into the late hours of the night.”

With her brother set to enlist in the military soon, Lee Soo Hyun wanted to appear on the show so she could gain confidence as a solo performer. She said, “When I’m performing as a part of Akdong Musician, I feel confident. I’m not that confident about doing things on my own, but all the praise I received today has given me courage.”

She also added, “I was scared about branching out into other genres because I’m so used to the innocent and clear music of Akdong Musician. I hope my brother watched my performance.”
