Celebrities Commemorate 3rd Anniversary Of Sewol Ferry Accident
April 16, 2017 marks the third anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Accident, and many celebrities have spoken up in remembrance of the tragedy.
The sinking of the Sewol Ferry was a shocking incident that killed a total of 304 people. Immediately after the ferry capsized, the press incorrectly reported that everyone aboard had been evacuated. However, soon after, news outlets announced that most people were still stuck inside and waiting to be rescued. It was later revealed that the passengers had been ordered to stay put while the captain and crew evacuated on their own. Korean citizens were extremely angered by the incompetence of the government at the time, triggering various protests demanding the truth behind what had happened that day and why the victims were not rescued.

Park Hae Jin paid a visit to Paengmok Port (where the ferry capsized) to pay his respects to the victims of the accident. He went privately with a few of the employees at his agency, but many people recognized him and uploaded pictures of him on their social media.
