2007 Soompi Gayo Award

For the 3^rd straight year, soompi.com is organizing an annual gayo award show. The 2007 Soompi Gayo Award is aiming to recognize Korean singers who have an outstanding year. It will take place on December 29.

This year, we are very proud to announce that we are bringing back a “show” for the award, in the form of a podcast. In the show, we are going to count down the top 20 songs of 2007, and announce all the award winners. You can hear all the most popular k-pop hit songs in 2007! It will be hosted by our member saharial, who used to be a soompi radio DJ.

Same as the last 2 years, we want your participation in this event. A voting has been set up for each category of nominees. For the most prestige DaeSang (singer of the year) award, your vote will count 20% toward the final results. The voting on other categories is for fun and for references only and it will not affect the final result which is based purely on our weekly music chart scores.

Even though the voting on this year has moved to the main site, we are also running a prized contest for our forum members to predict the winners on each category. The two members who scored the highest will receive a YesAsia gift certificate (for the winner) or a soompi T-Shirt (for the runner up). If two or more members scored the same amount of points, a random draw will determine the winner.
