2PM’s Japanese Debut Single Sweeps the Tower Record Charts ★
It looks like 2PM is ready to kick off their debut in Japan.
2PM’s Japanese debut single “Take Off” swept Japan’s Tower Record online pre-order chart on the 7th with their various versions of the single. These include the limited edition type A, the standard edition and limited edition type B, which were consecutively placed in the top three, respectively.
Also, 2PM’s limited edition type A single and type B single were each ranked 3rd and 5th in HMV online chart, which reflect 2PM’s popularity in Japan. The type A single will include the music video of “Take Off,” while the type B single will contain a special photo book of undisclosed photos. Their single “Take Off” is scheduled for release on May 18th. Prior to the single release, 2PM plans to release “All About 2PM,” a total package of all their past albums and a special DVD that contains a special video produced personally by the members, on the 9th. Also, they will release their “2PM 1st Concert in SEOUL DON’T STOP CAN‘T STOP” DVD on the 30th.
This isn’t the first time that 2PM has topped the Japanese charts. At the end of last year, prior to the release of their Japanese Debut DVD “Hottest,” 2PM swept the top 5 rankings in Japan’s largest mobile ringtone chart ‘Recochoku,” while topping the Tower Record and HMV charts—and even the Oricon DVD chart by beating Michael Jackson.
An official of JYP Japan stated, “The JYP Japan and Japanese staff are so excited and thankful for all the support and anticipation for 2PM’s upcoming debut single. Thank you. We will try our best for 2PM’s success in Japanese promotional activities. Thank you for everyone in Japan and Korea for their support for 2PM.”
Meanwhile, 2PM will be heading off to Thailand to attend MBC’s Hallyu Concert.
