After 2 Years Baek Ji Young Is Coming Out With a New Album

Baek Ji Young has announced that she will be releasing her first new album in over two years on May 19.

For her 8th album, producer Bang Shi-Hyuk, as well as Jeon Hye-Sung, Ryan, PJ, Choi Gap-Won, Won Tae-Yeon, and other various famous composers and lyricists took part in the making. Photographer Jo Sun-Hee staged the title song’s music video for Baek’s 8th album.

Baek Ji Young’s agency, WS Entertainment, stated on the 2nd, “As much long time and effort was put into it, the completion of the album is high as well, only the songs that will effectively represent Baek’s allures were chosen. For this 8th album, if all the songs on the album were to become title songs, there won’t be just one favorite song. With that being said, each and every song was selected with utmost care, the album will consist of ballads and other wide ranges of genres as well.”

With an release date of May 19, one set of concept photos has also been revealed, showing a picture of her with curled gray hair and clean-cut image. Check out more of the concert photos here.

Baek Ji Young’s new album is the first in Korea to involve five top stylists: Leeming, Jeon Hyo Jin, Choi Hye Ryeon, Han Hye Yeon, and Hong Yeon. The five stylists wanted to emphasize Baek Ji Young’s ‘femininity’ in her photo-shoot and expressed in in different concepts.

Out of the five concepts, the first one revealed is stylist, Han Hye Yeon’s concept. In the photo, it’s an image Baek Ji Young usually doesn’t portray. Her new look reminiscent of a ballerina. Baek Ji Young has a white dress on with pale face and gray hair.

Stylist, Han Hye Yeon states, “I wanted to express Baek Ji Young’s beauty in a natural yet a clean-cut way. She was very professional and versatile in her expression of the concept. I was surprised by her extent of expressions”.
