CN Blue and FT Island to Miss Year-End Festivals and Awards Shows
Overseas performances will keep bands CN Blue and FT Island from attending the various year-end music festivals and awards shows, according to a statement from their agency FNC Music. The two bands are currently in the thick of promotions and activities abroad, which makes them unable to accommodate appearances in the year-end shows in their packed schedules.
CN Blue has kicked off its “BLUESTORM” 2011 Asian Tour in Seoul in September. Along with encore concerts in Seoul in mid-December, the quartet will also head to Bangkok, Jakarta and Hong Kong for the series. CN Blue is also scheduled to go on a Zepp Tour in Japan in December.
CN Blue is also poised to be first foreign artist to perform in “COUNTDOWN JAPAN” on December 28. They will be performing alongside well-known Japanese bands at the annual Japanese rock festival.
FT Island is anticipating the release of a new Japanese single, “Distance” and will be busy with promotions in connection to this. In addition, the five-piece band will hold a Japan Arena tour, as well as concerts in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
Local news agencies report that both bands will likewise miss the 2011 Melon Music Awards, the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and the Golden Disk Awards.
Apart from CN Blue and FT Island, the year-end music festivals and awards shows will also be missing T-ara. The girl group had earlier announced its absence in these events, also citing overseas promotions.
