JYJ’s Coming to Chile and Peru!

JYJ is finally coming to South America!

On January 4, JYJ’s management agency, CJ-eS Entertainment released a statement saying, “JYJ’s South American Tour has been confirmed. They will hold solo concerts in Chile on March 9 and in Peru on March 11.”

The concert in Chile will take place in Santiago at the Teatro Caupolican, which was the venue for Korn and X-Japan’s concerts in the past. The March 11 concert in Peru will be held in Lima’s Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental, which has a capacity of 5,000 seats.

JYJ’s promoter in South America said, “JYJ’s popularity in this region is at a different level than regular K-Pop music. It’s bigger than local artists and even the U.S. pop musicians, and the support from people in their teens and 20s are explosive.”

JYJ commented on their long-awaited South American tour, saying, “These are countries located 30 hours away from Korea. We’ve seen a spike in our fan base in the North and South American regions after our 2010 album that featured Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins. So despite the distance, South America always felt close to us.”

They continued, “From our world tour in 2010 and 2011, we’ve seen countless South American fans come to our concerts, from U.S. cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco to some of the European cities. They’ve requested us to come to their countries for a long time, and we’re excited to be able to keep our promise with them.”
