K-Pop's Stellar Line-up For Incheon Korean Wave Concert 2011

K-Pop’s Hallyu frontrunners will headline the 2011 Incheon Korean Wave Concert, to be held on August 13th.  Venue and tickets information, however, are currently pending confirmation.

The event will feature SNSD, Wonder Girls, KARA, 4Minute, Super Junior, BEAST, SHINee, 2AM, 2PM, GD&TOP, SG Wannabe, MBLAQ, and CN Blue.  The artist line-up is telling of the Concert’s intent as a tourism effort to reach Japanese fans, as each of the groups mentioned have begun, have established or are currently active in promotions, releases and activities in Japan.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sponsored last year’s staging.  The concert was broadcast as a special episode of MBC’s Music Core.

With K-Pop spreading to overseas shores, efforts to boost tourism to Korea are riding on its wave.
