YG Entertainment: “Kang Seung Yoon to Debut in a Group Next Year”
YG Entertainment has announced that Kang Seung Yoon from the Top 4 of Mnet “Super Star K2″ will debut in a group next year.
On September 20, a representative from YG Entertainment met with the press after the “2NE1 1st Japan Tour ‘NOLZA’ in Japan” concert at the Yokohama Arena had finished. When asked about the future plans for Kang Seung Yoon, YG announced, “Kang Seung Yoon will be debuting with a group next year. There is a high possibility that he will undertake solo activities as well.” The representative continued by saying, “As well as the rock genre that Kang Seung Yoon showed during ‘Super Star K’, he is also very capable of covering other genres, such as dance, R&B, and folk. He is a well rounded musician, which is why we will be working on a variety of different activities for him.”
He also added, “Kang Seung Yoon is still young, and has a lot of time to try out different things. That is why we will be promoting him through a group as well as solo activities. He has a lot of talent to offer and has the potential to achieve a lot in the future.”
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment, the company that possesses the talents of Big Bang, Gummi, Se7en, and 2NE1, announced that they are in the process of training a girl group and a boy group, hoping to debut both teams next year. After completing his run on “Super Star K2”, Kang Seung Yoon was scouted into YG as a trainee, gaining a lot of attention from entertainment representatives as well as fans.
Currently, Kang Seung Yoon has challenged himself as an actor, starring in the MBC sitcom “High Kick S3: The Short Legs Strike Back”.
